
Chief Technology Officer
Scott Martin serves as the Chief Technology Officer of Net Power, leading technology development efforts, alignment with key partners, and Net Power’s long-term go-to-market strategy.
Scott’s work on Net Power began in 2014 as one of the original engineers designing Net Power’s 50MWth La Porte, Texas Demonstration Facility. Scott contributed to Net Power’s technology suite of initial commercial designs and overall IP portfolio and lived in both Tokyo and Houston to complete engineering, construction, and commissioning of the demonstration facility. Scott led efforts of the successful first-of-a-kind oxy-combustion testing completed at site in 2018 and then later served as Director of Demonstration at Net Power from Fall 2018, where he led engineering and validation, laying the groundwork for Net Power’s successful synchronization to the ERCOT grid in Fall 2021.
In addition to Net Power, Scott contributed to the development and commercialization of 8 Rivers’ other groundbreaking clean technology in carbon capture, direct air capture, and clean hydrogen.
Scott served as Director of Strategic Sales at Mitsubishi Power from June 2021 to June 2022, working closely with utilities and consortiums to assess techno-economics and drive adoption of emerging hydrogen technologies. Scott returned to Net Power in June 2022.
Scott graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science. He was a 2018 Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree in Energy.
